Moet & Chandon Pays Tribute to LA With New Limited Edition Bottle

Moet Chandon Limited LA bottle

Let’s face it: Los Angeles is a pretty special place. It’s the home of Beverly Hills, one of America’s most storied cities, Rodeo Drive, Malibu beaches and Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world. Moët & Chandon has come up with a pretty stellar way to pay tribute to the City of Angels: by creating a limited-edition bottle in its honor.

This month, the champagne house is releasing a limited line of ten city-specific bottles with its Moët Nectar Imperial Rosé (which happens to be the country’s top-selling rosé champagne), all emblazoned with a map of city landmarks and gold crests. The bottles also feature gold toppers for an even more opulent look.

The bottles will retail solo for $70, or, if you’re a true travel and champagne enthusiast, you have the option of purchasing the full, which comes packaged in a wooden box, a golden latch and a map of Paris, the home of Imperial Rosé.

Other cities included in the collection are Chicago, Atlanta and, of course, New York City.

That said, though the landmark bottles are unique, there’s a reason that Imperial Rosé is the top champagne seller in this country. It’s flavor profile is heady: you’ll find a burst of exotic fruits such as pineapple and mango accompanied by the silky roundness of stonefruits like mirabelle plum and apricot, the brisk freshness of grapefruit notes with an ever-so-slight hint of vanilla to round out the palate.
The assemblage reflects the diversity and complementarity of three grape varietals: 40-50% Pinot Noir, 30 to 40% Pinot Meunier and 10 to 20% Chardonnay.

For foodies intent on finding that perfect gastro pairing, you’ll be pleased to find that this bright and elegant champagne is best complemented with dishes that include foie gras, salmon, blue-veined cheeses like Roquefort, fourme and gorgonzola, yellow-fleshed fruits like grilled pineapple, nougat, spicy Indian and Chinese dishes and curry with saffron.
