Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have brought their Midas touches to Los Angeles for a second time in the form of their first L.A.-based brick and mortar Elizabeth and James boutique.
The sister line to their high-end label The Row that the girls describe as “familiar, yet fresh…all about finding the right balance,” made its debut at Rick Caruso‘s destination shopping center, The Grove, on Friday.
At the 1,200-square-foot flagship, located next to Crate & Barrel and MAC Cosmetics (the former home of Johnny Was), shoppers will find ready-to-wear accessories and fragrance collections as well as California cool dresses that have become a signature, romantic, ruffled tops and twill trousers, which, up until now, have been stocked at luxe retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Ron Herman. There are also pieces exclusive to the L.A. store including key chains, cashmere scarves and a crocodile-embossed leather tote, the Eloise.

The Grove location also stocks a designer-curated collection of home decor items such as sage smudge sticks and handmade Japanese paper; Cali-appropriate books like John Witzig’s “A Golden Age: Surfing’s Revolutionary 1960’s and ’70’s,”; and one-of-a-kind pieces courtesy of vintage boutique Spanish Moss.
As designed by Santa Monica-based firm Montalba Architects, the boutique completely fits in with the twins’ aesthetic: it’s minimalist and completely chic with white-painted brick walls and light wood fixtures.

The inviting space will also showcase upcoming product launches such as the sisters’ two new Elizabeth and James fragrances (Nirvana Bourbon and Nirvana Rose), which will retail exclusively at Sephora stores. Shoppers will have a first look (and sniff) however, at the new boutique.
Elizabeth and James is the twins’ second L.A. boutique; they opened The Row’s Los Angeles flagship back in 2014.

The idea for the boutique has been brewing for quite some time, as well. “The Grove is an LA institution,” Ashley said in a press release. “We’ve waited ten years to do this and are pleased for Elizabeth and James to be a part of what makes The Grove so special.”
