July is National Ice Cream Month and with the stifling heat in Dallas, there couldn’t have been a more appropriate time to take advantage of the month long holiday. But ice cream isn’t the same as it used to be, now ice cream shops are offering an endless selection of unique mixtures that push the boundaries of creativity offering clever concoctions to tempt even the most discerning palate. Ice cream has evolved! Even when strolling down the frozen section of your grocery store, no longer will you find plain vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. Now one can shop for almost any combination of flavors from a ginger ice cream cookie sandwich filled with a creamy chocolate wasabi gelato to a cool organic, mint and ginger watermelon pop all on one aisle.

Will it be gourmet gelatos, sorbets or an old fashioned ice cream? With stifling temperatures that don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon and a multitude of choices of where to indulge your sweet tooth; Haute Living gives you the scoop on what ice cream shops will get you through the long hot summer.
