The Heart Foundation’s Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award to be Awarded to Mike Meldman

Mike Meldman

In recognition of his impactful work in improving the lives of children around the world, philanthropist, real estate developer, and CEO of Discovery Land Company Mike Meldman will receive The Heart Foundation’s Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award.

The award, which recognizes individuals “who effect change within their communities and demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of humankind,” will be presented to Meldman at the foundation’s charity event this Saturday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m., at the home of investor and philanthropist, Ron Burkle, “Green Acres Estate” in Beverly Hills.

The Heart Foundation

“The Heart Foundation is about as important as a cause as any to contribute to,” says Meldman, who founded Discover Land Company Foundation––which supports nonprofit organizations that service children and families in need near Discovery Land Company projects––adding that, “Heart disease is one of the biggest issues in the world that can actually be cured.”

The Heart Foundation, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, was founded in memory of Steven S. Cohen, who died of a heart attack at 35 years old, with the mission to create awareness about heart disease.

“…I’m so honored to be a part of this cause because it’s making a lot of my friends and our members educated and aware of what the heart foundation does and about heart disease,” says Meldman.

The event will hold a tribute to the late talent agent, concert promoter, film producer, and actor Jerry Weintraub, who was a close friend and mentor to Mike Meldman, as well as feature surprise special guests and entertainment. Cocktails by Casamigos Tequila will be served.
