DCB

Launching today, Katjes Magic Candy Factory, the United Kingdom-based company best known for unique and innovative conceptual thinking, will bring the first 3D candy printer in the world to the United States. The decadent treats will be part of an exclusive partnership with Dylan’s Candy Bar.

The Magic Candy Factory printer will be featured in-stores and will offer confections connoisseurs more than 100 different designs to choose from, the ability to write names or special words, draw candy creations and print greetings on gummy cards to create delicious gifts. Also, sweets devotes can select a color, flavor combination and a unique “magic” finishing added to their own personal masterpiece. The price of the candy design is a flat rate of $20 per print, and the gummies are vegan, gluten, as well as dairy free and instead of being made with gelatin, they are made with all natural fruit and vegetable extracts to create something as natural as it is delicious.

In a statement, Haute 100 lister Dylan Lauren said, “Magic Candy Factory is an incredible innovation. Dylan’s Candy Bar has been excitedly watching the trends in candy personalization. We can’t wait to dazzle our customers with the magic creativity of Willy Wonka’s factory, merged with modern day technology!”

Melissa Snover, Managing Director of Magic Candy Factory, added,“The Magic Candy Factory is a one of a kind innovation and we are so excited to bring our 3D printed confections to the USA. I have been a fan of Dylan’s Candy Bar since I started in the confectionery industry 6 years ago. Their incredible experimental retail environment and ‘customer comes first’ service make them the absolute perfect fit for the magical innovation we developed.”

Dylan’s Candy Bar and the Magic Candy Factory will launch with eight different colors as well as a corresponding flavor combination from a traditional Sublime Strawberry to a Beautiful Blackcurrant. In addition, customers can add a unique “magic” finishing such as glitter, sour or fizzy “dust.” Customers can expect additional options that will reflect the different seasons, cultures and locations.

Currently, the 3D printing is available at the New York City’s Flagship 3rd Avenue and Union Square locations beginning Friday, May 20. To follow will be: Chicago—Monday, May 23, Los Angeles—Saturday, May 28 and Miami—Wednesday, June 1. The duo confection companies will debut the sweet treats nationwide during a consumer weekend celebration on June 9th and 10th.
