The Cinema Society and Samsung recently held an exclusive screening for Disney’s The Jungle Book. directed by actor-comedian-director Jon Favreau, famous for helming the mega-hits Iron Man and Iron Man 2. The Jungle Book offers up a bold hi-tech take on the classic children’s tale chronicling the adventures of an orphaned tribal boy, Mowgli (played by newcomer Neel Sethi). The film, drawing on Rudyard Kipling stories and an earlier Disney animation, comes packed with the latest in hi-tech photo realism and CGI. Mowgli ’s story is revered in India, which helped account for the movie’s blockbuster opening there this month, the country’s largest for 2016. (The film debuts in the US on April 15th.)
