Inside London’s Avocado-Only Pop-up Restaurant

Just when we thought the avocado trend was so 2015, we were proved wrong. London is now the first city with an official avocado-only restaurant. Meredith O’Shaughnessy, known as the ‘pop-up queen,’ is the genius behind this creative concept. You may also know her as the brains behind London’s Dirty Laundry and Nordic Yulefest. O’Shaughnessy’s newest ‘Avo-Brunch Pop-up’ gives you the opportunity to delight in a five-course menu praising the notorious fruit.

So how exactly are they going to transform the avocado into five different dishes? Easy. Start with an avocado gazpacho complemented by watermelon and basil oil, continue with a grilled harissa spiced chicken with avocado salsa, avocado raita and deep fried avocado in crisp quinoa. But what about dessert, you wonder? Get ready for avocado ice cream with almond praline, and avocado dark chocolate mousse with an avocado macaroon. All of this will be accompanied by, you guessed it, avocado cocktails. Upon entry you will receive an avocado margarita and leave with your very own avocado grow kit.

While the avocado haven hasn’t been made permanent just yet, you can still indulge in all five courses for a mere $55, with the next event being on May 8th. You can find this culinary adventure in Clerkenwell’s Printworks Kitchen. The avocado’s Instagram fame is about to receive its second fifteen minutes. Get ready, buy tickets here.
