On April 6, 2016, Dallas’ elite within the philanthropic community were out in full force to support Ally’s Wish and their collaboration with local designer Esé Azénabor in presenting a beautiful evening of philanthropy and haute couture.
Ally’s Wish is a nonprofit profit organization based in North Texas that tirelessly devotes its time to granting the last “wish” of terminally ill young mothers. The lofty committment undertaken by the foundation in helping families to create lasting memories with loved ones was inspired by the tragic loss of a dear friend, Allyson Hendrickson, to ovarian cancer. Compelled to make a difference and honor the memory of their friend, Missy Phipps, Holly Reed, Melissa Cary and Heather Bryan founded Ally’s Wish. Since its inception, the women have raise more than $150,000 to aid in their endeavor of making dreams come true.

It was a magical evening, in the exquisite home of philanthropist and honorary chair Tricia Sims. More than 125 guests enjoyed sweets by The Jenny Layne Bakery and sipped libations courtesy of Sweet Beat Vodka and Community Beer. Before taking their seats for the stunning fashion show debuting Esé Azénabor’s newest collection entitled, “Venetian Dream,” guests mingled, enjoyed delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and entered raffles presenting exclusive prizes including a LABU digital print caftan by Azénabor.
The guest list, comprised of the who’s who of Dallas included the gorgeous LeeAnne Locken from Bravo’s Real Housewives of Dallas as emcee. After guests took their seats in the grand foyer of this magnificent home, the fashion show began highlighting Azénabor’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, inspired by the Garden of Eden and only shown previously at New York’s Fashion Week. Known for her bold and extravagant pieces guests were transported into a lush oasis by her tropically-inspired designs.
After a brief intermission, at which time raffle winners were announced, guests were wowed by Azénabor’s debut of her “Venetian Dream” collection. This new Fall/Winter 2016 collection inspired by Venetian architecture is 100% hand sewn using custom fabrics and materials such as silk crepe, silk tulle and silk mesh. In this intricately designed collection the designer uses a unique combination of Japanese glass beads, sequins and Swarovski crystals.
Guests were able to shop these amazing collections straight from the runway and at the same time donate directly to Ally’s Wish with a percentage of the sale going toward making a mother’s wish come true. Thanks to the seamless and thoughtful vision of HAS Events in creating memorable moments, Azénabor’s feminine and powerful designs combined with the heartfelt message of Ally’s Wish set the perfect tone for honoring and empowering women while impacting the lives of others.

Ally’s Wish biggest night of the year is coming up so mark your calendar. Their Boots and Blessings Gala will be held at Gilley’s Dallas on April 30, 2016. It will feature a seated dinner buffet, live and silent auctions, live entertainment and an after-party.
