Sin City’s newest upscale Mexican restaurant, Libre Mexican Cantina at the Red Rock Resort, has never made heading south of the border so easy or delicious. Coming from Clique Hospitality along with acclaimed chefs, Brian Massie and Jesus “Chuy” Villegas, these dishes celebrate everything you love about fine Mexican cuisine all in a vibrant atmosphere.

Libre Mexican Cantina takes over the space at Red Rock Resort that was occupied by Mercadito, and has kept many elements of the overall layout in place while updating the decor to give it more traditional cantina vibe. However, the menu has been completely overhauled by Massie and Villegas. The emphasis has been put on keeping things simple and authentic, but with a modern twist. Massive believes in utilizing only the freshest ingredients, herbs and spices to give his dishes bold flavors that will make your taste buds incredibly happy. For starters, you must try the signature salsas and homemade guacamole, which are both made to perfection. The traditional tacos and street tacos also make for great shared plates too. We’re also big fans of the mini crab ceviche tacos as well as the bubbling quest fundido. For entrees, you won’t go hungry with any of the generous burritos that are on the menu and the sizzling fajitas are out of this world as well (especially when served in lettuce cups). For those looking to keep things on the lighter side, Libre’s brown rice bowls are a very healthy option. You can pick from chicken, grilled mahi mahi, carne asada or tofu to add to your bowl that also comes served with marinated black beans, grilled corn and avocado. There are now plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available too. The chili rellenos, grilled portobello tacos, coconut and shrimp ceviche, plus vegan nachos are sure to satisfy your Mexican cuisine cravings.

Of course the cerveza and tequila selections on hand are ample as you might expect at a quality Mexican cantina. The signature cocktails like La Granda which features Casamigos Blanco Tequila as well as the Desperado which pairs tequila and sangria, are both excellent choices.  Be sure to stop in to take advantage of Libre’s every day Happy Hour offerings from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
