Environmental activists stepped out last week to celebrate Conservation International‘s dedication to the planet for the organization’s 20th annual Los Angeles dinner.

Event chair Gillian Wynn was joined by host committee members Kristin Gore, Lyn and Norman Lear, Louise Linton and Steven Mnuchin as well as actor Edward Norton and the local leadership committee of Nancy Chiamulon, Lisa and Tyler Kelley, Nancy Morgan Ritter, Jessica and Richard Sneider and Lindsay Feldman Weissert and Brian Weissert at 3Labs in Culver City to celebrate the transformational impact CI has had around the world by leaving “no stone unturned” to protect the planet for the well-being of humanity. The event-raised funds support this global nonprofit’s work safeguarding the forests, rivers, coasts, oceans and wetlands that provide food and water, sustain economies and help promote a stable climate.

The evening included a musical performance by British singer-songwriter Laura Mvula, and an after party performance by DJ Tony O.  Additional special guests included Shelli Azoff, Lawrence Bender, Former Governor Gray Davis, Jason Ritter, Doc Rivers, Katie Stevens, Steve Wynn and Renée Zellweger.

Creative direction for the gala dinner was provided by Marc Friedland, creative director and founder of Marc Friedland Couture Communications; Dom Pérignon provided champagne for the cocktail hour and after party.  Guests enjoyed the latest release, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006.

Since 1987, Conservation International (CI) has used an innovative blend of science, policy and partnerships to protect the nature that people rely on for food, fresh water and livelihoods. CI works with more than 1,000 partners in more than 30 countries around the world to ensure a healthy, more prosperous planet that supports the well-being of people. The organization’s long-term goal is to protect things that nature provides: food, fresh water, livelihoods and a stable climate.

Since its inception, Conservation International has donated over $100 million to conservation partners around the world.
