“Sky above me, earth below me, fire….” inside a fireplace while you sip on glass of Malbec at a haute NYC bar. Let’s face it, winter isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The worst moments of the snowy season have to be walking around in the cold not knowing where you’re going. That’s why we went on the case to find out the best bars to get you warm so that you’ll never have to wander or worry about where to go. Here are five spots with fireplaces to keep you warm this winter.

1 The EDITION Lobby Bar

It may be cold, but that doesn't mean your social life can't be haute as ever. The EDITION Lobby Bar provides the perfect backdrop for winter trend-setters. Enter the sleek hotel and instantly feel the heat. Their minimalist and modern decor acts as a canvas for an unforgettable evening. From the cocktails to the crowd everything at The EDITION is of the highest calliber. Don't miss out on their Clocktower Cup cocktail with ELYX vodka, pineapple cordial, mint, and pineapple juice.

2 Clover Club

This venue had been made famous for their serious liquid libations. Our favorite winter concoction has got to be the incredible ‘Lei’d To Rest’ with aged rum, East India sherry, cinnamon, falernum, Angostura and Tiki bitters, and absinthe rinse. Besides their beautifully curated menus, this Brooklyn hotspot boasts an incredible ambiance, furthered by their cozy back-room fireplace. Why fireplaces seem to always be in the back-room is beyond us. Anyways, here you will find a low-key, no velvet rope vibe with live jazz and good eats to match. It’s an atmosphere as warm as the fireplace in it.

3 Art Bar

Sip the night away to the sound of a crackling fire and admire a contemporary mural of a modern day Last Supper at this quirky West Village bar. It’s a pretty surreal situation, to say the least. Solidify your spot at one of the neighborhood’s most comfortable couches and let the vices begin. Sirloin burgers, chili cheese dogs and vino will be present at your 2016 version of the last supper. It’s the ultimate West Village fireplace experience.

Complimentary chips, leather seats and a full-on fireplace make Shoolbred’s a definite go-to as temperatures drop. If you don’t get one of the coveted spots around the fire, they have world-class hot toddies to keep you warm. Nothing says winter is here like a whiskey and water with honey and spices served hot. Seriously delicious. This East Village bar is a dimly lit laid-back haven for a cool and casual crowd. Make sure to check out their two-for-one happy hours while you’re at it.

5 Black Mountain Wine House

When you imagine a winter’s night with a glass of wine, trust us you're thinking of Black Mountain Wine House. Curl up by their fireplace and feel right at home. It is comfortable, easy, unpretentious and most importantly very warm. They have a serious wine menu with a selection of over 30 different bottles. They even do an authentic European-style red mulled wine. Not to mention their ‘make you feel warm inside’ eats like fondue Tuesdays. It’s the perfect homey situation for when you don’t feel like being at home.
