This month is National Cherry Month so to celebrate, we have compiled a list of some of Boston’s best dishes to celebrate Washington’s favorite fruit. From pies to pizzas, here’s a look at our picks for five of the hautest places to check out this month.

1 Petsi Pies

Petsi Pies
No one knows the art of baking pies quite like Petsi Pies of Somerville. Best known for their savory pies available by the slice or as a whole 10-inch pie (think chicken pot or spinach ricotta), they also have a menu of sweet pies, including a delicious cherry crumb just as good (if not better) than grandma used to make. They also provide all of the desserts for Cambridge’s southern restaurant, Tupelo.

2 Mike’s Pastry

Mike's Pastry
Mike’s Pastry has been a staple in the North End for decades best known for their famous lobster tail pastries, creamy ricotta cheese cannoli and classic Italian rum cakes. A lesser known secret is they offer a delicious selection of pies, including cherry, topped with a flaky crust cooked to a golden brown perfection.

3 Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar

Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar
If you are in Somerville, you know where the best pies can be found. At Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar in Davis Square, the first thing you will see when you walk in the door of this hip restaurant is the selection of pies behind the glass dessert case. Stocked with specialties like Dutch apple, blueberry crumble and coconut cream, their seasonal fresh baked specialties include cherry.

4 Montilio’s Baking Company

Montilio’s has been serving up delicious pies for more than 65 years and has since opened several locations on the South Shore. This classic dessert is filled with fresh cherries topped with a golden lattice crust. Simply take it home and heat it up in the oven for a few minutes and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a savory dessert.
638 Adams Street Quincy, MA 02169

5 Salvatore’s

You won’t find a classic cherry pie in its traditional form as you might expect at Salvatore’s in the Seaport District, but you will find a 12-inch Neapolitan style Vignola Cherry pizza that you have to show an ID to eat. This sweet and tart pie is made with Bing cherries marinated in raspberry vodka topped with fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola, prosciutto and orange blossom honey.
