All of the much-needed rain we’ve been getting—and no one is complaining about the El Niño-fueled storms—has resulted in terrific snow in Lake Tahoe. As if that isn’t enough reason for you to head to this winter wonderland then the latest offerings from The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe’s might be. The swank, AAA Five Diamond resort nestled mid-mountain at Northstar recently unveiled a haute Champagne Experience, along with other unique après-ski offerings, a winter spa menu with rejuvenating treatments and restorative après-ski fitness classes.

After a day on the mountain, you can ski or snowboard directly to the resort’s ski beach to dine at the popular Backyard Bar & BBQ restaurant, offering traditional BBQ favorites and wood-fired oven-baked pizzas with a scenic view of the slopes. In addition, the Backyard Bar & BBQ provides live music every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, delighting both adults and children. New this year, the resort invites you to savor The Champagne Experience, which includes Champagne by the glass or the bottle with Oysters on the half shell, available Friday through Sunday throughout the ski season.

Adjacent to the Champagne Bar is an authentic six-passenger Silver Green Gondola, cabin number 14, which is one of the 160 gondola cabins originally constructed in Veryins, France during 1986 by Sigma. This unique gondola is enabled with LED lighting inside, a superb Bose sound system and Bluetooth capabilities. You can relax in the remodeled interior, listen to music, have a drink or use the gondola as a fun backdrop for photos or selfies.

For total rejuvenation, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe has created a winter spa menu which focuses on restoration, renewal, relaxation and recovery from Lake Tahoe’s wintry outdoors, along with sore muscles resulting from the various seasonal activities. Spa treatments include an après-ski massage, a sumptuous soles treatment for hands and feet, a tranquil escape that is ideal for jetlag and a 90-minute journey that includes a full-body exfoliation and full body massage.

There are also winter fitness classes, perfect for both pre-skiing conditioning and post-skiing restoration for hotel guests.

Après-Ski Yoga
After an invigorating day on the slopes, take a break with this class targeting breath control and muscle rejuvenation.

Winter Conditioning Class
Train the way Olympians do! Target power, agility and performance on the slopes with functionally-directed explosive and reactive moves.

With a range of wonderful après-ski experiences to choose from, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is a must this winter season!
