The Miami Design District got a new flagship with the opening of the TOM FORD store. The brand’s co-founder and chairman, Domenico De Sole, hosted an elegant opening soiree to celebrate attended by Craig Robins, CEO of Dacra Development.
TOM FORD has long been a favorite of Miami’s fashionable set and the two-story boutique designed by architects Aranda/Lasch has been a much-anticapated addition to the district.
The new store marks the brand’s sixth directly operated TOM FORD flagship in the United States.
Although he did not attend the opening, Tom Ford expressed his excitement for the area. “Architecturally, [the Miami Design District] has become one of the most exciting and vibrant places in the world and I am thrilled to open my sixth US store there,” he said of the opening.
Domenico De Sole has been with TOM FORD since it’s inception in 2005 when he left his post as Gucci Group President to work with Ford. In that same year. Ford partnered with Marcolin Group to produce and distribute optical frames and sunglasses, allied with Esteé Lauder to create the TOM FORD beauty brand and opened his first flagship store April 2007 in New York at 845 Madison Avenue.
New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, another Miami favorite showed up looking dapper to support the brand.
Other notable guests included Greg Jennings of the Miami Dolphins; artist Romero Britto; artist Paula Crown; and Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, Wayne and Arlene Chaplin; Marvin Ross Friedman and Adrienne bon Haes, Donald and Lola Jacobson; Jeff and Yolanda Berkowitz; Chapman and Kristin Ducote; Pierre and Sarah Lacharlotte; Fabian and Martina Basabe; Stacy Robins; Jason Rubell; Brenda Nestor Castellano; Lydia Touzet; Marisa Toccin Lucas; Dr. Sergio Alvarez; and Cameron Cervera.
The store boasts all the best of the TOM FORD line, including women’s handbags, and clothing, men’s suits, shoes, accessories and, of course, fragrance.
The Miami TOM FORD flagship store is located at 103 NE 39th Street in Miami, FL 33137.
