Gucci is paying homage to some of the glamorous cities in the world with the release of its forthcoming Dionysus City Bag collection.

The luxury Italian brand has already rolled out its Dionysus City Bag Milan (which is sold exclusively at the Italian fashion capital’s Via Montenapoleone boutique) in December, and now, eight other cities are following suit.

Beginning in January 2016, its flagship stores in Rome, London, Paris, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Dubai will each carry their own special version of the signature shoulder bag. Each version will feature the trademark GG Supreme canvas and metallic double tiger head clasp (referencing Greek God Dionysus’ journey across the river Tigris on a large Tiger sent to him by Zeus) alongside appliqué details inspired by the different cities. Inside each bag, there is also an embroidered leather bee motif patch, along with the name of the city that each style is dedicated to.  The patches are distinguished by their different colors: pink for Tokyo, bougainvillea for New York, teal for Rome, green for Dubai, burgundy for Hong Kong and red, white and blue for Paris, Shangai and London.

Each piece showcases distinct and unique designs for each city. The New York bag features hearts, a pair of lips and pink lightning bolts, while London’s City Bag has a Kingsnake, a rose and a butterfly design. The Tokyo bag is delicate, featuring bubblegum pink flowers and lightning bolts, while Dubai will feature starfish and dragonflies.

Gucci’s Dionysus bags retail between $2,100 and $3,290. Current styles feature the classic GG Supreme repeating logo pattern, the floral-patterned Blooms print shoulder bag and a leather Dionysus Arabesque bag. The price of its eight-piece city-specific collection is not yet known.
