Christmas shopping can be exhausting lugging around bags filled with goodies for everyone. When you are out and about this holiday season, stop for a much needed break at one of these haute shops with eateries where you don’t have to go very far to relax and unwind.

1 Trident Booksellers and Café

Trident Booksellers
Trident Booksellers and Café might be one of Newbury Street’s best kept secrets. If you thought this was just your average bookstore, think again. Tucked away inside this indie shop is a bustling full service restaurant that serves a “perpetual” breakfast all day, healthy smoothies, herbal and bubble teas and specialty coffee drinks. For lunch and dinner, try a cobb salad, falafel wrap, turkey burger or bowl of microgreens topped with salmon cakes paired up with a glass of wine or a draft microbrew.

2 Cheers Boston

Cheers Boston
Shop for T-shirts, ornaments, shot glasses and, of course, beer mugs at the Cheers shop in Faneuil Hall. Here, you can buy a beer mug just like Norm and Cliff’s from the famous TV show in the retail shop and then head into the bar that is lined with memorabilia from the show (think Sam’s Red Sox jacket and Cliff’s postal suit) and order up Carla’s petite burger, Coach’s club sandwich or Rebecca’s fish and chips.

3 Max Brenner

Max Brenner
There is nothing quite like a sweet escape from the hustle and bustle of shopping in Boston’s Back Bay. For some much needed respite, head to Max Brenner where shopaholics and chocoholics unite. There is a retail store here where you can buy everything for the chocolate lover in your life before indulging in the café where boozy drinks, flatbread pizzas, juicy burgers and hot fudge fondue abound.
745 Boylston Street Boston, MA 02116

4 Nespresso

A little retail therapy goes hand in hand with some coffee therapy. Take a break at Nespresso’s flagship boutique where you can enjoy a nice strong espresso. Once you have had the pick-me-up needed to finish off your holiday shopping, check out the retail shop that includes everything from espresso cups to a cappuccino set.
