Alan Faena will debut Faena Hotel Miami Beach in November 2015, marking the first opening in the Faena District Miami Beach, a new neighborhood with art and culture at its core. It will feature one-of-a-kind cultural, residential, hotel, retail, restaurant, and public environments that have been conceived as dynamic expressions of art, design, nature, technology and service. Situated on a pristine strip of beach in the heart of Miami Beach, Faena District stretches north from 32nd Street to 36th Street—between the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Creek—and will open in phases over the next three years.

Cafe Nikki
This laid-back café is serving up a variety of coffees and teas, homemade croissants, quiches, pastries, European marmalades, and fresh daily bread from Miami’s most popular artisanal breadmaker, Zak The Baker. To further the authenticity, they serve Alain Milliat marmalades and juices from Lyon. There are cushy couches to curl up in, suspended wicker swings to feel weightless in, and book shelves for browsing. Café Nikki is poised to be the go-to breakfast spot for South of Fifth’s fancy population.

Hermès Miami Design District
Hermès is moving out of their temporary digs and into their big new house in the Miami Design District. The three-story building was designed by RDAI and boasts a unique mix of materials from stone, wood, and metal, to the more natural focus with a tree-filled roof garden. Its extreme modernity and innovative play on materials, perfectly compliments the rich diversity of Hermès. The unveiling of the new Design District store is one of seven openings or expansions for Hermès in the U.S. this year.

Pérez Art Museum Miami Presents Sun Splashed
Curated by PAMM’s Associate Curator Diana Nawi, Nari Ward: Sun Splashed is poised to be the largest exhibition to date for the groundbreaking Jamaican-American artist. This mid-career survey will feature works from the 1990s to today and will also showcase lesser known aspects of Ward’s practices such as photography, video, and collage. Ward’s oeuvre speaks with penetrating insight and imagination to a broad range of themes, including African-American history and culture, the dynamics of power and politics, and Caribbean diaspora identity.

Ermanno Scervino Bal Harbour
Ermanno Scervino, the Italian fashion house, has opened it’s first U.S. store in the exclusive Bal Harbour shopping mall. The concept recalls the company’s style: black smoked glasses, mirrored surfaces, steel, and cement. Rita Ora, Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson, and Jennifer Lopez are just a few of the many celebs that have been spotted in Scervino pieces. The store extends over 2,200 square feet and displays menswear and womenswear collections and accessories.
