Shanti Project’s Compassion is Universal, one of our favorite fall events in San Francisco, is just around the corner. The 41st anniversary benefit dinner takes place Oct. 14, 2015 at the Palace Hotel and promises to be as spectacular as ever with philanthropist Bahya Oumlil-Murad chairing once again and actor and human rights advocate Omar Sharif Jr. hosting. The evening will entail a cocktail reception, silent auction and welcoming remarks by the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Leader, followed by a sit-down dinner and program featuring a performance by Dancing with the Stars Sasha Farber. This year’s Nancy Pelosi Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Ambassador James C. Hormel.

In addition to the memorable words we can always count on hearing onstage, an incredible live auction is also part of the evening. This year’s lots are ah-mazing! Here are just a few of the lots:

  • An eight-day Seychelles Experience Package which includes first-class travel accommodations on Etihad Airways, lodging in the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Suites in Abu Dhabi and Seychelles, and more!
  • The Glamorous World of Vera Wang Package including an over $14,000 handcrafted rich nude Vera Wang Juliet strapless veiled mermaid gown with Chantilly lace applique and cascading eyelash flange on the train, which attendees will see modeled by former America’s Next Top Model contestant Eugenia Washington
  • A $2,500 Vera Wang Rodeo Drive shopping spree with roundtrip airfare from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and more!
  • The Napa Valley Getaway Package containing a two-night stay for three couples on the exclusive O’Connell Family Winery Estate grounds, lunch at both winemaker’s and chef’s go-to spot, Mustards, and more!

We know you’ll want to be a part of this very special evening, which is presented by Nordstrom and whose media sponsor is Haute Living. Tickets are on sale now at www.shanti.org. We’ll see you there!
