We recently popped by the POPSUGAR offices in downtown San Francisco to interview Lisa Sugar, the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief, for our September/October tech issue. We were curious to how this woman who runs the No. 1 site for female millennials gets through her day, handling work, three young children and a husband, Brian, POPSUGAR’s co-founder and CEO. During our visit, we simply couldn’t resist asking her about her fabulous hair because we were so taken with her luscious auburn locks! She shared with us not just her favorite products for her hair but what fashions, accessories and beauty products she’s loving right now.

From head to toe, literally, Sugar oozes a comfortable, casual chic style that is perfect for a hip, tech office like POPSUGAR or wherever you may be going where you want that effortless-pulled-together look that she epitomizes.

“I’m a big T-shirt and jeans girl as you can see,” says Sugar, who on this particular day rocked a haute pair of Rag & Bone Capri skinny jeans, her favorite brand. “They’re comfortable, flattering [and] easy.”

With Sugar overseeing editorial, it’s no wonder that POPSUGAR, which started in 2006, has catapulted to the No. 1 site for female millennials. The entertainment-obsessed editor-in-chief initially launched the website as an up-to-the-minute hub for celebrity-friendly news delivered in a non-snarky manner. Now you can find so much more on POPSUGAR, including content and conversation on fashion, fitness beauty, relationships, parenting, home, pets, wedding, travel and food.

Before you bounce over to her site, read on to see what she uses on that healthy head of hers, what tote she’s loving right now and more of the products that keep her looking as fabulous as she does.

She says this about her hair and products:

“I’ve used the same hair products since I was 13—and if they ever discontinue [them] I don’t know what I’ll do. I’m a big believer in changing up shampoo although Pantene is by far my favorite; and I use a product called Vavoom forming gel and I use Biolage mousse. Those two products are my go-to, and I have a whole way to do it. I brush it in the shower. I do not touch it once it comes out, and I put my product in. I come in [to the office] in the morning. Everybody sees me and my hair is in a bun for at least two hours. It needs to dry and then I put it down. I’m glad I can [let it dry naturally] because it saves me a lot of time in the morning.”

“Every woman should have a perfect tote. As a working woman, as a mom, I can always use one of those bags.” She’s currently carrying this blue one but also has the Mansur Gavriel large tote in brown, black and white. “I like to switch them up often,” she says.

“They are my favorite new thing that I’ve been wearing a lot of,” she says of The Everlane Street Shoe. “It’s just the right amount of—I’m trying to look fashionable but it’s so easy. And they’re super comfortable. I can walk forever in these guys.”

Sugar says she is “pretty obsessed” with Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation Serum from the brand’s No Make Skincare line. “It’s like a tinted mineral-based serum that has SPF in it. I squirt three drops with my moisturizer and I put it on my face so I feel like I’ve got my SPF. I don’t really like foundations or much make-up, so I really feel like it’s just putting a little tint to my moisturizer. I love that.”

“For fall, Veronica Beard makes these really cool blazers with hoodies inside of them, which I’m a big fan of. That would be [one of] my fall must-haves… It’s like a blazer, but it’s a hoodie so I feel like I’m still casual.”
