The “Good Food Guide” is back with this year’s go-to restaurants for gourmands in the UK. Since 1951, the guide has been giving expert reviews on the top dining destinations in the country.
For the third time in a row, the “Good Food Guide” experts have claimed L’Enclume as the best restaurant in all of the United Kingdom. Each time the restaurant won with a unanimous vote. Located in northwest England’s Cumbria County, Chef Simon Rogan continuously is breaking culinary boundaries.
L’Enclume
The rural restaurant takes inspiration from the produce found in his very own garden, serving purely organic cuisine. The building itself exudes the aura of the British countryside; it is made of stone and has a 5-hectare farm behind it.
In second place came none other than Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. The celebrity chef is not new to awards, having earned his restaurants 16 Michelin-stars in total and currently holding 14. He is most famous for his TV presences on Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef, but now has a new title under his belt. His spot on the “Good Food Guide” moved up from one spot from last year putting the Scottish chef in silver.

While many people were expecting the award-winning Fat Duck to keep its top spot on the list, it did not make it this year. The British restaurant has been closed for renovations and was not open during the guide’s inspector tour. Don’t fret; you will only have to wait until September for their doors to reopen.
