We all know Italy is home to the great architecture, amazing food and wine, famous designers and irresistible Italian men.

Handsome, charming, emotional, smart: Italian men tell you that you’re beautiful and they really mean it. They love women and know how to create magic for them. That is why it did not take me too long to recognize one of them as I walked into Barney’s store to attend an exclusive lunch benefitting San Francisco Playhouse.

Tall, fashionably dressed and all smiles is the son of the legendary shoe designer Sergio Rossi, Gianvito Rossi. He was welcoming beautiful ladies who came to support the non-profit organization and express their love for his beautiful collection.

After light summer lunch we walked to the shoe department, and thats where the shoe seduction started. How do you choose between playful Mary-Janes, sexy knee-high gladiator sandals, perfect ankle-strap flats and other elegant designs?

I was trying really hard not to fall under the spell, but all of the sudden there it was, on the pedestal, my version of Cinderella shoe: an embellished with crystals stiletto pump! In one short minute I saw the flashing images of the Russian version of Cinderella movie: beautiful young lady leaving the Ball in a hurry, losing her shoe on the stair and handsome prince picking it up. I don’t think the shoe was inspired by the famous fairy tail but in my world it was.

As I was donning the sparkling creation, I knew exactly what Gianvito Rossi meant when he said: “The real luxury of shoes lies in the pleasure of slipping them on.”
