If you haven’t yet made your winter travel plans, David Ortiz wants you to come to the Dominican Republic. The Boston Red Sox designated hitter recently announced his plans to host the eighth annual David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic to be held in his native Dominican Republic December 3-6, 2015.

This year’s four-day event is being held in partnership with MassGeneral Hospital for Children and the World Pediatric Project, which provides critical pediatric healthcare to children in New England and the Dominican Republic. The annual golf classic raises funds for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund, which provides critical pediatric healthcare to children in New England and the Dominican Republic. Since its inception, the popular event has raised more than $2 million and has attracted many of Ortiz’ celebrity friends, athletes along with past and present teammates.

The charity event is being held this year at the luxury resort Sanctuary Cap Cana in Punta Cana where the exclusive VIP foursome package pairs you up with a celebrity captain to enjoy some eight oceanfront holes on the first of three Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses (Punta Espada) in Cap Cana. There is a welcome reception for VIP guests on Thursday, a pairings party on Friday, golfer breakfast on Saturday morning and an awards celebration dinner Saturday night. The VIP package, which is available as a twosome or foursome, also includes full access to a hospitality suite featuring breakfast, lunch, snacks, refreshments and open bar.

This might be the best way for sports aficionados and fans in Red Sox Nation to travel Big Papi style to escape the Boston winter for a few days to meet the legendary player.

The VIP package is being offered by Radegen Sports Management.
