Tomorrow as part of their explorer series, Mayfair-based bar Mr Fogg’s will team up with fellow explorer, Hugh Robertson, for an evening of tales and talks about his most recent expedition, a 12 day trek to the Geographic North Pole.
Guests can look forward to an evening of bone-chilling tales from the explorers Arctic Enterprise through miles of frozen water, snow and below freezing temperatures, in support of the Princes Trust to raise money for more than 250 disadvantaged young people to begin careers as entrepreneurs.
Taking guests on the ultimate journey through the one of the worlds harshest environments (without having to leave their cosy arm chairs in Mr Fogg’s humble abode), the event will be held tomorrow (Monday 7 September) and will begin with a 40-minute talk from Mr Robertson at precisely 6.01pm followed by a 40 minute Q&A.
Travelling across the dynamic polar pack ice and crossing the boundaries of endurance both physically and mentally, Hugh Robertson, entrepreneur and CEO of RPM, along with 12 other successful entrepreneurs, tackled the hardships that the arctic represents to raise awareness and money for The Princes Trust. The team have raised more than £300,000 to provide aspiring entrepreneurs the tools and support to build their first business venture.
The Princes Trust runs nine different programmes aimed at young people aged from 13-30 to help them identify their strengths, take responsibility for themselves and work towards a career and future they can be proud of.
Mr Fogg’s is a recreation of the Victorian home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg. Modelled on the very Mayfair house in which Phileas would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days, the bar is the first West End project from Inception Group, whose founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling have also created Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, and the acclaimed Bunga Bunga (an Englishman’s Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke venue) among others.
