The Brent Shapiro Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Awareness simultaneously celebrated its 10th anniversary, raised $1.3 million and honored Rob Lowe on Saturday night.

The 1,000-person event, dubbed the Summer Spectacular, was held at a private estate in Beverly Hills.

The event was hosted by Shaun Robinson, who honored Lowe with the Spirit of Recovery Award before musical icon Smokey Robinson and Motown protégée Jadagrace took to the stage.

Special guests at the soiree included Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble, Berry Gordy, Tara Reid, Brooke Mueller, Alan Thicke and Tanya Callau, Tommy Lasorda, Alana Stewart, George Hamilton, Amy Yasbeck, Catherine Bach, Pat O’Brien, Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec.

The sit down dinner for gala was curated by Wolfgang Puck, with the wine selection provided by Southern Wine and Spirits. The Summer Spectacular included a live auction with $351,000 in funds raised and awards given to graduates of the “Brent’s Club” program. In total, the Foundation raised $1.3 million dollars that evening.

The Foundation, which was created by famed attorney Robert Shapiro, wife Linell and Grant Shapiro celebrates the life and legacy of son and brother Brent Shapiro, who succumbed to a drug and alcohol overdose ten years ago.
