As summer draws to a close, it would typically mean we say goodbye to all the great music festivals; however, not in Las Vegas. The second annual Life Is Beautiful Festival takes place from Friday, Sept. 25th to Sunday, Sept. 27th throughout downtown Las Vegas. With an emphasis on food, art and learning, it is truly a festival unlike any other. Since thousands are expected to flock to Sin City this weekend, we break down the five things you need to check out.

Take In All The Different Sound
Life Is Beautiful stands out among other music festivals by not only being held throughout the urban landscape of downtown Las Vegas, but also by putting together one of the most diverse musical lineups you’re likely to find. This year’s headliners include the legendary Stevie Wonder, Las Vegas-based rockers, Imagine Dragons and hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar. In addition to these heavy-hitters, attendees will also get to experience a wide assortment of sounds spanning from rock, rap, reggae, electronic, indie and world music. Life Is Beautiful boasts three impressive stages, the Downtown and Huntridge stages focus on the bigger acts, while the Ambassador stage brings you emerging artists. This year, Insomniac Events (creators of EDC) have been brought on-board to curate the new Troubadour stage, which will feature cutting-edge electronic music. Also, in the main music areas, attendees can enjoy several smaller, pop-up stages, which will have local DJs and bands performing. No matter where you turn, you can expect to be met with some serious sounds.

Change Your Life at the Learning Series
One of the best things about going to Life Is beautiful is the Learning Series, which is an area where you can listen to impassioned speakers give presentations about creating a better world, shaping the future and challenging the game of life. The wide-ranging specialities of this year’s speakers are impressive. Bill Nye (the science guy), Zappo’s Tony Hsieh and Jon Rose are just a few of the notable names that hed the Friday lineup, where topics will focus on how we can set about improving our world. On Saturday, entrepreneurs, innovators and champions of the industry like Jeff Hoffman, Lane Wood, Melody Mccluskey are on the bill. On Sunday, underdogs, athletes and those with humble beginnings will speak about their experiences in overcoming adversity and how we can come together to “change the game.” Actors Kat Graham and Rosario Dawson are among the celebrity names closing out this year’s Learning Series, but no matter when you pop into this area, you can expect to be enlightened and inspired.

Not Your Ordinary Festival Food and Drinks
The food and drink options at Life Is Beautiful are a big focal point of the festival. This is not the type of event with your typical hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and beer stands. Some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas will be present. Celebrity chefs like Hubert Keller, Kim Canteenwalla, Elizabeth Blau, Sam Marvin and more are also on-hand to give attendees live demonstrations and tastings of their latest culinary creations. There will also be special Life Is Beautiful cocktails made by famed mixologists, along with more craft beer than you will find at any other music festival. From savory to sweet and everything in-between, whatever you’re craving chances are you can find it at Life Is Beautiful.

Check Out The Interactive Art Installations
The downtown Las Vegas setting is transformed during Life Is Beautiful, but all the amazing art installations that are commissioned stay up for a full year. Visionary street artists like Banksy and D*face will be putting up interactive installations and large-scale murals throughout the downtown festival grounds. There will also be an art hotel, which will showcase additional works and highlight local artists. Performers from the popular Las Vegas show, Absinthe, will also be performing, helping to make Life is Beautiful much more than just a music festival, but rather a full-sensory experience.

Embrace a Different Side of Sin City
The most important thing to take from your Life Is Beautiful experience is to really explore all the things you’d never expect to find in Las Vegas. For far too long, Sin City has gotten a bad rap for not having enough art and culture events as well as the bright light of the Strip. After diving into a weekend at Life Is Beautiful, those unfair stereotypes are smashed and you will never look at the city quite the same way again.
