Having a good cup of coffee to help ease you into the day is absolutely essential in Las Vegas. We’ve rounded up five of our favorite places to grab a strong cup of joe, and like anything in Sin City, these are coffee houses with a twist.
1 The Beat Coffee House & Records
Located in Downtown, Las Vegas on Fremont Street, The Beat Coffee House comes from the Downtown Project and is a hipster’s paradise. The atmosphere is something akin to Greenwich Village in New York City, which makes The Beat a very cool place to hang out at. This spot resides in a creative complex complete with painters and photographers, while hitting all your coffee needs. The Beat also has a full breakfast and lunch menu, used vinyl records for sale, serves alcohol all day and is even family friendly. Plus, you can enjoy their live music offerings in the evenings before you head out onto the Fremont Street Experience.

2 Sunrise Coffee House
Billed as a “neighborhood coffee shop with a flair for the eclectic,” the Sunrise Coffee House lives up to that billing and more. They put an emphasis on serving organic, fair-trade coffee from single origin farms and also offer wide assortment of delicious vegetarian and vegan foods. Located near McCarran International Airport, this is the place to hit when you first arrive to get you fired up for the fun that awaits or for when you are simply in need of a serious pick-me-up before you head back home. You’ll be amazed at the quality of their coffee and the food presentation is second to none. Their menu is as diverse as it is delicious and you’ll want to try just about everything. We’re endorsing the pineapple cinnamon roll and the fantastically named, Aliens Left a Burrito in the Middle East. Everything here is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is something you’d usually only find in San Francisco or Seattle.
3130 E. Sunset Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89120
The art of brewing fresh coffee is considered an art form at Sambalatte. So much so that they boast a “coffee lab” where you can watch their master roasters in action to see just how much TLC is put into every cup. Sambalatte takes pride in running an eco-conscious business and offers organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Searching for a first-class espresso? This is the place for you. Plus, with three convenient locations spread all over town, including the chic new spot on The Strip at the Monte Carlo, Sambalatte makes for a great alternative to the major coffee chains.
750 S Rampart Blvd #9, Las Vegas, NV 89145
4 Tipsy Coffee House
This is the Willy Wonka of coffee shops. While infusing sweets with specialty liquor isn’t something new, the Tipsy Coffee House selections are something to be savored. Try the famous Tipsy Truffles, which come with a one-fourth shot of booze in every bite-sized morsel. There’s also the Tipsy Fratte, which is a Frappuccino-esque concoction that comes with cake crumbs, coffee grounds and thick chocolate syrup to create a very intoxicating elixir. Creativity is the name of the game here and you never know what they’ll dream up next. But one thing is certain, you’re going to love it.
6496 Medical Center St. #012 Las Vegas, NV 89148
5 Illumilatte Brew Society
This spot is one of the city’s newest coffee hotspots, located just a few minutes off The Strip and conveniently right next to the famous, Bachi Burger. The interior is very chic and spacious, allowing you ample space to relax or spend a few hours to get some work done. There are also board games near the cashier, where you can challenge a friend to ensure your mind is still sharp. We also recommend trying the delicious homemade baked goods (the Nutella Macaroon is a personal favorite) and smoothies if you’re looking for something more than just a strong java fix.
