This week was the time to get out and about in Boston. In case you missed it, here is a rundown of some of the week’s hautest happenings.

On Monday night, Carrie Nation Cocktail Club, Boston’s own speakeasy in Beacon Hill, hosted a Summer Craft Beer and Barbecue Soiree. From 7 to 10 p.m., guests had the chance to snack on a four-course barbecue dinner paired up with craft beer. If you missed this, don’t fret. The social club hosts a weekly Sinatra evening every Tuesday with dinner packages available.

Also on Monday night, actress Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie, Best in Show, and TV’s 2 Broke Girls) was in town for a benefit performance at Central Square Theater. The VIP package included pre-show hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, a performance of Saving Kitty and a post-show reception with the cast. The story is about Kate and Huntley Hartley, atheist Manhattanites, who anxiously await the arrival of their daughter, up-and-coming television news producer Kitty, and her new beau Paul, for dinner. When Paul turns out to be an Evangelical Christian educator, the liberal, cultured Kate’s worst nightmare, everything is turned upside down as Kate tries to scuttle the budding romance. This was Coolidge’s Boston debut as Kate, the ruthless, unfiltered, and politically incorrect matriarch in Marisa Smith’s hilarious comedy.
