Ellen DeGeneres, TV talk show host and Bergdorf Goodman, New York’s premier shopping destination are not two names you would necessarily hear in the same sentence? It’s an unusual combination but one that is set to launch in September. Bergdorf will host a pop-up shop selling exclusive clothing and home items, designed by Ms. DeGeneres, called ED (pronounced Ed, like Edward). Get ready for ED at BG!
Ellen is known for her popular TV show but less of us know she also sells products on QVC. The products sold at Bergdorf Goodman, will be more elevated and handcrafted than her QVC counter-part. With this pop-up, America’s sweet heart will bring her lifestyle vibe to New Yorkers during fashion week. The items will sell for $800 to $3750 and the specialty retailer will also host an on-line shop — open for purchases at the same time period (great if you can’t make it to the Big Apple).
Ellen handpicked the items and it will be a mix of home, apparel and exclusive capsule collections in each product category designed especially for Bergdorf Goodman.
“ I’m so excited to showcase my lifestyle brand, ED at Bergdorf Goodman during Fashion Week. Originally we wanted it during Shark Week but I think this will be just as good, “ said Ellen joking.
The products will be featured on the 7th floor on September 10 through the 22nd. Handcrafted articles from cashmere textiles in throws, pillows, whimsical barware, and decorative accessories are among the items available .
The online auction house, Paddle 8 will present a sale of vintage and antique design items curated by ED featuring one of a kind works that reflect ED’s comfortable and timeless aesthetic. That auction will benefit the Humane Society.
