Meet Instacart, an application founded in 2012 that offers on-demand grocery service fit for busy executives, working moms, and anyone who’d rather not have to head to the grocery story in order to fill their pantry.  Shoppers can place their orders directly from their iPhone, iPad, Android device, or the web. Instacart will then deliver within 60 minutes or less right to the shopper’s doorstep. Voila!

Instacart launched in the Miami metro area (Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Wynwood, Midtown, Brickell, downtown, and Miami Beach) in mid May. The Southeast General Manager of Instacart, Nick Friedrich stated “we had thousands of people sign up for Instacart service before we’d even launched. Within two weeks that number had increased by 6-7x, and it’s continued to grow.”

The company recently expanded their delivery zone in late June, adding most of Northeast Miami-Dade County. That means that cities and neighborhoods like Sunny Isles, Golden Glades, Surfside, Aventura, Ives Estates, Miami Shores, North Miami Beach, North Miami, and North Bay Village are now being served by Instacart. “Instacart demand in Miami has exceeded even our very high expectations. As a result, we decided to accelerate Instacart’s expansion into Northern Miami, with more to come. We’re really excited to expand our presence and serve a larger part of the community,” shared Friedrich.
