Members of the New England Patriots serving up dinners? That’s just what happened this week along with a cookoff in Cambridge, Summer in the City series kickoff and fashion show. Here’s a look back at this week’s best Boston happenings.

On Monday, the Kelley for Ellie Fashion Show and Fundraiser was held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza honoring WCVB’s Kelley Tuthill, a breast cancer survivor. The girls’ night out package for the event included four tickets and round trip private car transportation. Attendees enjoyed a fashion show by Neiman Marcus Boston modeled by the women of WCVB-TV Channel 5, wine and hors d’oeuvres along with a live auction. The Ellie Fund assists breast cancer patients with transportation to medical appointments, housekeeping and childcare while they are receiving treatment.

New England Patriots fans and serious foodies combined their loves Monday night at Celebrity Waiter Night held at towne stove and spirits. Pats wide receiver Danny Amendola came together with some of his Super Bowl XLIX teammates to serve up a four-course dinner at the Back Bay restaurant to benefit Danny Amendola’s Catches for Kids Foundation designed to assist low-income children and families in need.

On Wednesday night, Room & Board held a summer party at its Newbury Street location. Bostonians enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while listening to music by Doug Geler, host of MIT’s Lost Highway on 88.1 FM. Attendees included Brian Ball, owner of Lyndon Furniture of Vermont, who showcased the furniture store’s latest designs.

Foodies came together Wednesday night to watch some of Boston’s top chefs compete in the Great Aussie Steak Out. Five chefs (William Kovel of Catalyst, Ryan Marcoux from Boston Chops, Matthew Gaudet of West Bridge, Renee Scharoff from Blonde on the Run Catering (the winner) and Eric Kinniburgh of Boloco) came together at the Technology Square Courtyard located outside Catalyst in Cambridge’s Kendall Square. Each chef competed grilling up their most creative dish using Australian Grassfed Beef and guests voted on their favorite dishes. Ticket proceeds benefited ALS Therapy Development Institute, a drug development organization dedicated to ending ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Summer in the City Series Kickoff

Last night, the Summer in the City Series kicked off at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Running now through September 9, the music and film series includes weekday events every Tuesday through Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. here, you can sit outside (the best seat is had from the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille restaurant’s outdoor patio) and enjoy Summer Soul Tuesdays, Rat Pack Wednesdays, Blues Barge Thursdays and Classic Movie Fridays (think African Queen and The Apartment). The series is held right on the waterfront each week.
