Pippa Middleton Turns Designer

Kate Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, has turned her hand to designing, all in aid of a good cause. The British socialite, entrepreneur and sister-in-law to Prince William, has teamed up with designer Tabitha Webb (who also hails from the UK) to create a special dress and scarf, which will be sold to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Middleton is an acting ambassador for the charity and will also be taking part in the 40th annual London to Brighton Bike Ride in aid of the cause on 21 June.

“It was great to collaborate with Tabitha to design the style and look of the dress and scarf. As an ambassador of the British Heart Foundation, I’m delighted that all the profits of the sales will go towards their lifesaving research into heart disease. Creating the limited edition pieces was a fun and creative way to fundraise for the BHF London to Brighton cycle challenge,” said Middleton. “I’m really honoured to be a part of such an amazing project. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Pippa throughout the designing process and we are delighted with the outcome. The dress is perfect for the summer – either worn with a denim jacket and pumps for a casual look or dressed up with heels for a special occasion,” added Webb, who was Middleton’s partner in crime on this project.

The designs themselves are a true testament to summer florals, with red, pink and purple hues and using lightweight cashmere and decadent silk to evoke that true carefree feel of warmer days. The limited edition pieces are currently available from Tabitha Webb’s store in Belgravia and at her e-commerce site, tabithawebb.co.uk.
