As if we didn’t have enough reasons to stop by the Dover Street Market.
Danish brand B&O PLAY has found a stable niche in creating sleek and elegant mobile consumer electronics that won’t clash with fashionable decor. Thanks to the brand’s stylish aesthetics, the company has recently been selected by Dover Street Market New York as the first technology company showcased at the world-renown fashion store. It will be the first time Dover Street Market New York has partnered with the consumer electronics sector. At Dover, B&O PLAY has developed a unique instillation that provides an immersive, sensory experience that highlights the brand’s Scandinavian heritage, as well as its commitment to high quality acoustic sound engineering.
“At B&O PLAY we are at the forefront of design and innovation, and are thrilled to present our award-winning products at the highly regarded Dover Street Market New York City,” states Natascha Klein, General Manager of B&O PLAY in North America. “We are excited to extend our high performing, designer-oriented products to Dover Street Market’s fashion forward clientele, as there is a natural synergy between B&O PLAY portable electronics, style seekers, music lovers and brand enthusiasts.”
“We are huge fans of B&O PLAY at Dover Street Market,” says Dover Street Market New York General Manager James Gilchrist. “They are leaders not only in sound technology but also design. We first worked together through our sound artist Calx Vive on a permanent sound installation she created for DSM Ginza in Tokyo featuring many BeoLit 12 Bluetooth speakers placed throughout the store. This project completely transformed the audio experience in an incredible way. We were so impressed that we wanted to do something in the New York shop. This will be the first electronics installation we’ve done and Calx Vive will be curating the sound content so the listener can experience the range of fidelity of the B&O PLAY line – I can’t think of a better company to work with on this installation.”
The B&O PLAY installation will feature at the Dover Street Market New York through July 10.
