More than 600 fashionable guests filled Cipriani on 42 Street last night to attend the annual black tie gala for Fashion Institute Of Technology. Actress Debi Mazar hosted the event which honored Saks Fifth Avenue and Edwin A. Goodman for their continued support of the state university, committed to supporting future talent and leaders of the fashion industry. The event raised more than 1.3 million for the F.I.T.’s Educational Development fund that enhances programs, develops initiatives and provides scholarships to promising fashion students.
Some of the notable fashion elite in attendance were, fashion designer, Nanette Lepore, W Magazine‘s Editor-In-Chief, Stefano Tonchi, furrier and fashion designer, Dennis Basso, and Bergdorf Goodman’s Fashion Director, Linda Fargo.
Former CFDA President, Fern Mallis and Fashion Historian and Director of F.I.T.’s museum, Valerie Steele, were also in attendance.
