Father’s Day is coming up this weekend and if you don’t plan something soon you’ll end up handing him a tie that you grabbed at Macy’s, thus losing the title of Most Favored Child again this year.

No worries, we’ve got you covered! Dallas is a virtual Mecca of cool gifts and amazing experiences if you know where to find them — and we do.

Give Him a Ferrari

Or a Maserati, or any number of other exotic sports cars. Platinum Motorcars has been renting luxury and exotic vehicles to Dallasites and Dallas visitors for decades. How would Dad like to drive around town in a Rolls Royce Phantom or a Lamborghini Huracan? They’ve even got a special for Fathers Day which allows you to rent the Ferrari California for 2 days in June and get 35% off the market rate. If you are unsure when your dad will have a break in his busy schedule just purchase a gift card that he can use when he’s ready.

It’s a gift of a lifetime and something he’ll always remember — plus you may even get to take a turn at the wheel.

Top Gun, Baby

If your dad has always wanted to fly give him a chance to pull some G’s this year as a fighter pilot. He’ll attend a briefing covering formation flight, aerial combat maneuvers, and other important information and then zip into his flight suit and board a Marchetti SF260. Once he’s airborne his instructor will hand him the controls and he’ll engage the enemy in combat.

For real.

He’ll have three hours of flight time that he’ll never forget. The event will be held in Fort Worth on October 17, 18, and 19 so he’ll have to be patient but it will be something he’ll look forward to every day from now until then. Get all the details on Cloud9 Living.

Free Fall

If whisking through the clouds isn’t your dad’s idea of Heaven maybe falling though them will be. He’ll be paired with an experienced sky-diving instructor and get thorough briefing while having all his questions answered. Then he’ll go up with his instructor and they’ll experience freefall for up to sixty seconds before the chute is opened and they slowly drift down to earth. The skydiving location is in Whitewright, just a short drive from Dallas.
