This popular Seaport District restaurant offers a variety of tacos that range from lime marinated grilled chicken corn tortillas and vegetable tacos stuffed with black beans and corn salsa to ahi tuna tacos topped with mango salsa and chipotle aioli served in lettuce wraps and braised short rib tacos topped with cabbage and crèma fresca served in flour tortillas. There is a second location in Lynnfield, Mass.
Everyone in Boston knows about Anna’s Taqueria, which is as famous for their overstuffed tacos as they are for their all day menu offerings. Breakfast tacos are filled with traditional items like eggs, sausage and potatoes but taken to a new level when topped with beans, salsa and even Mexican hash. Cubano tacos are made with chipotle and lime marinated smoked pork loin topped with Swiss cheese and pickles and kicked up a notch with jalapeno pickled red onion and habanero saffron slaw. The chili braised wild boar tacos come with rojo rice and sweet plantain salsa. The real find here is the delicious duck fat infused ground antelope tacos served in golden fried corn tortillas and topped with an addicting bacon ranch dressing. Did we mention it is all served up in one of Boston’s most popular roof deck locations?
One of the city’s best deals is offered by chef/owner of Tremont 647 Andy Husbands on Tuesday nights where tacos reign supreme for just $2 each. Head to the bar, order up a fish, beef, pork, chicken or veggie taco to go alongside a pitcher of their famous 647 margarita. If you can’t make it on a Tuesday night, tacos can still be had from the main menu, which features lime and achiote marinated tofu tacos served with black beans and flavorful cilantro rice.
Dorado Tacos is known for its Mexican street tacos served in soft corn tortillas. We recommend the spicy portabella mushroom filled with fresh guacamole, cotija cheese and salsa. The chorizo taco is made with ground pork chorizo while the traditional grilled steak tacos are spiced up with tomato habanero salsa. The real reason to come here lies with the beer battered whitefish tacos with chipotle crema, cabbage and salsa fresca.
