Four Seasons Dubai Hosts Charitable Afternoon Tea

On 20 May, Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children together hosted a charitable afternoon tea at the beachside resort. The Foundation, which aims to alleviate violence against women and children through protection, prevention and promotion, is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE.

Raising much needed awareness and funds for a notable cause, VIP dignitaries included Sheikha Al Qassimi.  Guests were offered selections from the English and Arabic Afternoon Tea offering in the hotel’s Shai Salon, whilst learning about the work of the foundation from Maryam Majid Bin Theneya, Communication Director.  Attendees also had the opportunity to contribute to the charity’s ongoing projects.

“We at DFWAC are always keen on establishing community partnerships for the success of our events, we were very grateful when the Four Seasons Resort Dubai approached us for this wonderful afternoon tea to raise awareness about violence against women and children and raise funds,” said HE Afra Al Basti, Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.

Simon Casson, General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Dubai said: “We were honoured to be able to help raise awareness of the foundation’s work with women and children in need, particularly in the lead up to the holy month of Ramadan, when charitable giving is of particular importance. Equally, we felt that the Shai Salon was the perfect environment in which to receive guests.”

Taking its name from “tea” in Arabic, the elegantly appointed Shai Salon is located in the heart of the resort.  Combining modern design, sumptuous sofas, freshly brewed coffees, teas and innovative pastries, the lounge is the ideal meeting place for friends, business travellers and families alike.  Seamlessly blending the modern and traditional, both English and Arabic teas are available throughout the day, brought to life by impressive displays of tea ceremonies, performed by JING tea, and presentations of Moroccan, Turkish tea and Arabic coffee.
