Family Builders celebrated Dia del Nino (Day of the Child) with a fundraising event at the Rotunda Restaurant at Neiman Marcus in San Francisco on April 30. Over 150 guests came out to support the organization and the work it does to create permanent families for children and youth in foster care.

Family Builders believes that all children have the right to grow up in a permanent, nurturing family and their mission is to create forever families for children and youth in foster care. Jill Jacobs, Executive Director, said: “Holding an event like this is a fantastic way to raise much needed funds to support our work.” The event was a huge success, raising over $20,000.

Co-Chairs for the event were Alan Morrell of Neiman Marcus and Brenda Zarate of Dior Couture. Attendees included George Gascon, Fabiola Kramsky, Sonya Molodetskaya, Mark Rhoades,  Joy Venturini Bianchi, Chandler Holmes, Navid Armstrong, Doug Waggener, Clara Shayevich, Aubrey Brewster and Adam Neeley. Guests enjoyed tasty bites and signature libations. The live auction was a hit; guests had an opportunity to bid on live auction items, such as lunch with the Honorable Willie L. Brown. The auction item was in such demand that San Francisco’s former mayor provided an additional lunch, which was quickly snapped up!

Family Builders has been working to create permanent families for the last 39 years. All services are free, and are available in English and Spanish. To learn more about Family Builders and/or support its mission, please visit www.familybuilders.org.
