The newest Boxster flexes some serious muscle under the hood. The car is powered by a 375 horsepower 3.8 liter flat six engine. On the road, that translates to some impressive speeds. In a flat sprint, the car can hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and is able to attain a top speed of 180 miles an hour, making it the most powerful Boxster yet. The carmaker has also jettisoned the automatic transmission option from the 2016 model, ensuring a significantly lighter vehicle. This year’s Porsche also sits 20mm lower on the pavement and features brakes from the 911 Carrera S, as well as all-new steering calibration. All of these tweaks, plus a smaller steering wheel ensure an improved driving experience over the previous Porsche Boxster Spyder.

The ride also features streamliners behind the headrests that serve as a tribute to the 718 Spyder of the 60’s. Buyers take note, The drive-focused Boxster doesn’t come with an air-conditioner or radio as standard equipment, but those amenities can be requested at no extra cost.

The new Porsche Boxster Spyder will be available in the U.S. in October for around $83,00
