If you thought you knew the Cadillac brand, think again: it’s about to make a big comeback in the luxury forum.

The U.S. based car company introduced its new CT6 sedan at the New York International Auto Show this week, a vehicle that’s been described as the flagship model of the brand’s $12 billion makeover.

What makes the CT6 a power player: four and six cylinder engine options, high-pressure aluminum castings for a quieter ride, a curb weight of less than 3,700 pounds and tech toys galore from the parking assist to pedestrian collision avoidance to the adjustable climate control to the 10-inch screens inside.

The car is one of eight all-new vehicles that the 113-year-old auto company will launch by the end of the decade; it will retail for $65,000, and production will begin in November.

Said Cadillac’s President, Johan de Nysschen, “The CT6 is the new flagship. It’s positioned above where the existing lineup ends.”

The company is also looking to expand its brand to China.
