Miami Beach Centennial Celebration
This is the kind of party that only comes around once every hundred years, so if you want to be a part of it you’ll have to get down to Lummus Park. To commemorate the fact that fashion made the little city what it is today, they will be erecting the world’s longest catwalk and—literally—have fashion shows for days. The shows begin in the evening on Sunday, March 22nd and run through Thursday, March 26th. They will feature local lines such as Simonette Pereira’s Style Mafia, and Liliana Montoya. There will be a style lounge a la Fashion Week with lots of individual lounges like the Peroni Music Lounge, the Menin Hospitality Lounge, SevenFriday Artist Lounge and more.

The best part is you don’t have to be an editor or buyer to attend these shows, just RSVP MiamiBeach100@funkshion.com. Next week the events continue with the centennial concert, but more on that later.

Jazz in the Gardens
Let’s just get one thing clear—there is a lot more “jazz” going on than “gardens” at Jazz in the Gardens, so don’t expect much greenery. That said, the 10th anniversary edition of this concert series, which takes place at Sun Life Stadium, has too good a line-up too dwell on plants. Erykah Badu, Toni Braxton, Run DMC, Shelia E., might help you forget that your lawn chair is actually parked on pavement.
