Nightlife was never enough in Las Vegas. That’s why the resorts here came up with daylife, all taking place at the luxurious pools along The Strip. While most of these pools have been open as early as March or April, Memorial Day officially kicks of the summer pool season when the temperature starts rising and the need for liquid refreshments, whether a dip or a sip, take over. Here’s a look at the top five pools in Las Vegas, where we’re sure you’ll find the party that’s right for you.
1 Wet Republic
Wet Republic at the MGM Grand creates the whole daylife experience when it opened in 2008. It has everything an over-the-top party should have: celebrities such as Eva Longoria Parker and Paris Hilton, cocktails, VIP bungalows, two salt-water pools and six waterfalls. This pool stays open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. And it’s adults only. Check out Daylife Sundays, the pool’s weekly industry party. Deejays such as DeadMau5, Benny Benassi, Sander Kleinenberg and Ferry Corsten, Sharam of Deep Dish spin under the sun.
If landing a spot on TV makes your to-do list, then head over to Rehab, the Sunday pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel. Every weekend, the scene is filmed for TruTV, so make sure that whatever you do you want seen on cable TV. Order up some Rock Star Lemonades and a cabana to look down on the scene. There’s always a celebrity on hand, too. About 4,000 people go to this great way to end the weekend, so get there early or book a cabana even earlier. The party goes on from 11 a.m. to sunset. The Travel Channel named Rehab one of the top 10 pools in the world.
3 Tao Beach
Tao Asian Bistro and Nightclub ranks No. 2 on Nightlife & Bar Magazine’s Top 100 clubs in the nation. So adding a pool to the mix only makes sense to let the party go from early morning to, well, early morning. Tao Beach sits on top of the nightclub and at the back of the Venetian’s sprawling maze of five pools. This place finds favor with Michael Jordan, Jay-Z and Heidi Klum.
4 Moorea Beach Club
Mandalay Bay has its beach, its river and even a wave pool. But the adults know to head over to Moorea Beach Club for a retreat from the chaos below. This three-level pool area features European-style sunbathing and cushioned chaise lounges. For a more private affair, head up to the third level where the secluded pavilions let you entertain large groups. Be sure to request one of the poolside massage services. The club is open daily fro 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
5 Garden of the Gods
When you just don’t know what you want in your pool experience, head over to Caesars Palace and its newly opened Garden of the Gods. The seven pools of the complex each have their own personality. You can relax, gamble or even network depending on the pool you choose. Our favorites? We love the Fortuna pool with its 18-foot waterfall and swim-up blackjack tables near the bar, and the Apollo pool, named for the Roman god of light and sun, where basking in the sun is at its finest. The Garden of the Gods is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October. Rental of daybeds, scoop chairs and cabanas is available for both hotel and non-hotel guests.
