Haute 100 member and Audemars Piguet North American CEO Xavier Nolot set up shop with Haute Time at a $40 million town house to present some of Audemars Piguet’s best timepieces that first debuted at SIHH 2014. Real estate investor Howard Lorber, along with hotel industry executive Kenneth E. Cruise, were just named to the board of directors for the Morgans Hotel Cruise Co filling two vacancies on the board. This bring the board’s total of members to nine.
“We welcome Howard and Ken to Morgans Hotel Group’s Board and look forward to leveraging their respective experience in real estate investing and the lodging industry,” said Jason T. Kalisman, interim Chief Executive Officer. “We are pleased to have the benefit of their insights and contributions as we continue to take meaningful steps to enhance stockholder value.”
MoMA has just acquired its first painting by Julian Schanbel — “St Sebastian (1979). The work is made of oil and wax on canvas and the acquirement was made possible by several donors. It’s notable in that it’s a bit strange that it took this long to get a Schanbel piece on the walls of MoMA considering his massive influence on visual art and cinema over the last 30 years. Museum curator Ann Tempkin says that Schanbel’s legacy is increasing in his influence as younger artists continue to express their interest in his work.
