The Five Best Fireplaces In Aspen

Oh, the weather outside is frightful. Here in Aspen, we’re not complaining: We love having lots of fresh powder to ski. But it’s still nice to find a cozy spot to warm up next to at the end of the day.

1. Limelight Hotel
The restaurant and lobby spill over into each other in this Aspen Skiing Co.-owned hotel, and the open floor plan is an inviting space for any casual evening out. But the best seats are those close to the wide fireplace in the lobby — don’t worry, there’s plenty of room close enough to this blaze.

2. Bison Bar
This double-sided fireplace is a cozy gathering place for lots of friends — or for your next romantic getaway. And the warm and friendly bar’s signature cocktails alone make the place worth your time.

3. Westin Snowmass
These fireplaces are outside, but at the end of a long ski day, they’ll more than warm your bum. The slopeside fire pit is outside the Westin Snowmass‘ Vue Lounge, serving classic cocktails with contemporary style. On Mondays and Fridays, there’s also free s’mores and a sing-a-long at the upper fire pit if you have little ones with you.

4. Finbarr’s
With a huge blaze in the middle of this basement bar, Finbarr’s Irish Pub & Kitchen might be the coziest place in town to catch a football game. Get there early to grab one of the couches near the fire and settle in for a comfy Sunday afternoon.

5. The Living Room
Hotel Jerome Living Room
“It’s like my living room,” I heard a regular Aspen visitor say in this cozy bar in the legendary Hotel Jerome. Recently renovated, the hotel has a contemporary feel while holding onto its historic charm, and the Living Room’s bar is no exception. Come in for a classic cocktail and sink into a stylish, soft cushion sure to warm you up.
