If Kathleen Rose Perkins looks like someone you know, it’s because you do. Not only did the Michigan native star in one of the biggest box office hits of 2014, David Fincher‘s Gone Girl, but she also currently stars alongside Matt LeBlanc on Showtime’s Episodes. Here, the starlet shares her insider’s guide to Los Angeles…as well as her favorite memories of shooting with Ben Affleck.

WHAT’S THE BEST PART OF LIVING IN LA?

The San Gabriel mountains…great hiking that’s really close.  Not many cities can boast the amount of accessible nature we have.

DESCRIBE LA IN THREE WORDS:

Warm.  Undeniable.  Home.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT:

Mar’sel at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

FAVORITE BAR:

The York in Highland Park.

BEST SWEET TREAT IN THE CITY OF ANGELS:

Affogato at the Copa Vida in Pasadena.  Please, do yourself a favor!

FAVORITE CHARITY EVENT:

Women in Film

FAVORITE CULTURAL INSTITUTION:

The National Tae Kwon Do Center in Pasadena.  It’s where I earned my second and third degree black belts.

BEST PLACE TO SHOP:

Oh so many!  I love Therapy in Pasadena and Letters From LA in Eagle Rock and Lake in Silver Lake…to name a few.

FAVORITE LANDMARK:

Eaton Canyon Natural Area Waterfall in Altadena.

BEST WEEKEND GETAWAY:

The Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

BEST SPA:

The Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

FAVORITE FACIAL:

I don’t get them.  They tend to make me breakout.

YOUR MOTTO FOR LIFE:

Write it down.  Do it.  Then check it off.

DREAM ROLE:

A role where I can use my tae kwon do.  And work with animals.  And be outside.

How about a National Park Ranger who solves crimes and beats up bad guys, all while riding a trusty steed through the mighty Sequoias?

Robin Wright, Chris Pratt, Matt Damon, Robert Duvall, Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth…to name a few.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU IN 2015: 

We just bought a new house, so I guess we need to move soon.

And I am working on an independent feature here in LA called “Juveniles” in January and February.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS: 

To finish P90X and get “ripped”.

To write a feature.

And to visit a national park.

FAVORITE ON-SET MOMENT WITH BEN AFFLECK IN GONE GIRL: 

David Fincher gave me his cell phone and had me record the scene I had with Ben Affleck so that he could lift an image from the video for the incriminating selfie my character takes with his character.  So I was in the hallway holding David Fincher’s phone doing a scene with no one else around accept me and Ben.  It was really cool.
