Week in Review: Bruce Bochy Celebrates World Series Win at Waterbar

If someone asked San Francisco Giants manager, “Bruce Bochy, you’ve just won your third World Series in five years? Where are you going?” Bochy could have replied Waterbar. Yup, Pat Kuleto’s seafood haven on the Embarcadero was where Bochy was spotted the night after the Giants’ thrilling Game 7 win over the Kansas City Royals. For details about his celebratory experience and a haute fashion event put on by Replete Skincare’s Elisabeth Thieriot, read our week in review:

Fresh off his World Series victory, Bochy celebrated his first post-win dinner at Waterbar with family and friends on Thursday. His celebratory party was greeted with a bottle of Billecart brut rosé, enjoyed a deluxe French fry presentation adorned with lobster, caviar and Hollandaise sauce as well as entrees from executive chef Parke Ulrich – pan roasted sablefish, seared petrale sole and grilled ono. To end the meal, executive pastry chef Angela Salvatore sent out a decadent dessert in the shape of a baseball and comprised of apple spice cake, Saigon cinnamon bavarian, candied walnuts and poached apples.

Replete Skincare sponsored the 2014 Haute Couture Fashion Event at the Fairmont San Francisco on Saturday, Oct. 25. The event showcased the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collection of Parisian Haute Couture designers, Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov of on aura tout vu and the Spring 2015 collection of rising American couture designer MIMI Tran.

The evening was sponsored by Replete Skincare and was their official launch as the first skincare company to treat skin like haute couture. Based in Circadian and seasonal skincare, Replete ensures that skin is as luxurious to touch as the haute couture items on the catwalk. The founder Elisabeth Thieriot, is one of the world’s preeminent connoisseurs of haute couture and her vision is to share the beauty of this art form with San Francisco.

“After you take your clothes off, your skin is all you have,” Thieriot says. “Your skin should be treated with as much care and attention as any couture item. This is what drove me to found Replete Skincare—and hold this event. San Francisco is a thriving fashion hub, but I did not feel that anyone was really engaging with the fashion and beauty community in a way I knew we could do.”

The event saw over 400 fashion fans and industry insiders, including Sonya Molodetskaya, Cynthia Schreuder, and Brenda Zarate, and Asim and Isha Abdullah of Ungaro who commented, “This was the most magnificent fashion show that I have seen. Replete Skincare and Elisabeth Thieriot have made a mark forever in San Francisco.”

Thieriot opened the the evening with a presentation from on aura tout vu, the wild-child designers of haute couture. Translating into “now that takes the cake,” on aura tout vu is a collaboration between Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov; two Bulgarians who are also true Parisian fashionistas. With signature sparkle, the duo presented 24 unique looks including dresses made out of crystals and precious stones. They also premiered High Gloss Haute Couture, their highly anticipated haute couture accessory label.

The Parisian singer French then performed for the first time on American shores, before ‘The Ballad of Heels,’ a presentation that showcased over 24 pairs of the most interesting shoes from the luxury footwear designer, Konstantina Tzovolou, began.

The second half showcased 12 couture form-fitting cocktail dresses and formal gowns by MIMI Tran, a Vietnamese-American designer raised in Paris. Tran’s designs are sensuous, exclusive and unforgettable; all of her creations empower femininity and pay tribute to modern glamour.
