Don’t have time to brine a turkey or bake a pie? Why not enjoy Thanksgiving dinner out instead? Here are the most delicious restaurant offerings for giving thanks — that you don’t have to wash any dishes!

1 Americano

Americano, the restaurant at our favorite Embarcadero hotel, the Vitale, is serving up a special three-course meal for the holiday. For the prix-fixe menu, chef Josua Perez offers a choice of sunchoke and roasted pear soup, chicory salad, or butternut squash panzanella for the first course. The second course is a choice between salmon, polenta, ribeye or heritage turkey. For dessert? Pumpkin pie tartlets, apple fritters, or budino. There are three seatings for the meal, 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm, so choose the time that best suites your schedule. We recommend going a little early and ordering a cocktail at the bar, it is a holiday after all and Americano’s libations are inventive and well-balanced.

2 Michael Mina

At chef Michael Mina’s flagship restaurant on California Street, the staff will be plating a four-course price-fixe Thanksgiving feast. For this menu, the wine pairings are a must as they are sure to be spectacular. Rajat Parr is the wine director behind Mina’s empire and there is no doubt that the esteemed sommelier has selected some excellent wines for turkey day pairings. For the starter, diners are given the option of mixed greens with candied nuts, a fall salad with feta and apple butter, or our choice: the chilled Dungeness crab with grilled avocado and arugula. The middle course is carrot soup or seared scallops; the entree is roast turkey with cranberry confit, ocean trout with lobster risotto, or prime ribeye with mushrooms and red wine sauce. A trio of sides will be served alongside the entree and these are traditional Thanksgiving favorites like yukon gold pomme puree, sweet potatoes, and chestnut stuffing. For dessert, you’ll have to choose between bourbon custard with caramelized honey ice cream, milk chocolate parfait with pumpkin seed, and quince angel food cake with malt chantilly.

3 Presidio Social Club

Over in the Presidio at the Presidio Social Club, diners can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal earlier in the day. From 11 am - 5 pm, the restaurant, that has a distinctive Southern charm, will be serving a time-honored menu of a seasonal soup, succulent roast turkey, and stuffing. For dessert, there are plenty of pies including pecan pie with vanilla ice cream and brown butter caramel sauce or spiced pumpkin pie with cinnamon whipped creme fraiche. They will also have local oysters on the half shell, fresh cracked Dungeness, and plenty of fall cocktails including one interesting concoction that’s made with root liqueur, bitters, and bourbon.

4 The Plant Cafe

Thanksgiving is no time to forget the vegetarians and vegans in your life and if you happen to be on a plant-based diet, we suggest you head down to The Plant Cafe Organic on the Embarcadero. A little less formal than the other restaurants listed in this round up, the Plant Cafe has a relaxed atmosphere and stunning views of the Bay Bridge. On Thursday, they will be serving a meal made with organic ingredients sourced from local farms. There’s gluten-free vegan roasted squash soup, persimmon and pomegranate salad, roasted baby bear pumpkin stuffed with braised seitan and vegetable stew. For dessert? Pumpkin pie with brown sugar creme fraiche or gluten-free vegan pumpkin cheesecake with maple caramel sauce. The annual price-fixe celebration takes place between 2 and 8 pm.

5 Campton Place

At Campton Place just off of Union Square, chef Srijith Gopinathan is plating up a stellar five-course price-fixe. With dishes like Maine lobster in coconut curry sauce, butternut squash veloute with vanilla, coffee, and ginger, his menu combines American and Indian flavors. The slow roasted turkey is followed by a bass, duck, or beef course, so come hungry and leave satiated.
