Dim Sum Sundays at Hakkasan Hanway Place

The clocks have gone back but Hakkasan has come up with a solution to ward off winter blues with a new Dim Sum Sundays menu at its subterranean Hanway Place location. Launched this week, Dim Sum Sundays offers a unique alternative to traditional Sunday roast from its world-famous kitchen in signature elegant style. Looking for a Sunday sharpener? The Michelin-starred restaurant has devised spicy cocktails to accompany the new menu, served alongside a feast of dim sum, modern Chinese dishes and lashings of Champagne – to a soundtrack of chilled Sunday beats by resident DJ Paathan.

Begin the experience with a Winter Sour (apricot, gingerbread, whisky, lemon, nutmeg and bitters) to whet your appetite, then a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV Champagne throughout your meal. What to expect? Enjoy a selection of small eats – we loved the duck and pomelo salad – before tucking into an extensive range of steamed, baked, fried and grilled dim sum, main dishes and desserts. Highlights include crispy smoked duck and pumpkin puff, golden radish crabmeat pastry, sautéed venison fillet in Mongolian sauce with pak choi, and apple tatin with vanilla ice cream.

You won’t leave hungry so be sure to save some space for the finale to keep you warm in the cold: a choice of digestif cocktails including the Ruby Warmer, served hot with brandy, port, cinnamon, nutmeg and liquorice bitters.
