The Langham, London has announced a further major investment of over US$9.5 million with three new areas due to launch in time for the hotel’s 150th anniversary in 2015. The new areas are: the Regent Wing, The Langham Club Lounge and last but not least the Sterling Suite – slated to be London’s top suite with up to six bedrooms.
The investment will be the most extensive since 2009 when the hotel was officially reopened by London’s Mayor Boris Johnson after an US$100 million refurbishment.
Duncan Palmer, managing director and regional vice president Europe, said: “This renovation will be key in elevating The Langham, London to the next echelon of luxury. The Regent Wing will be a sanctuary for guests who prefer the feeling of a private and discrete residence while The Langham Club Lounge and Sterling Suite will provide the ultimate in luxury amenities and service aimed at the most discerning clientele”.
Regent Wing
46 rooms and suites in the hotel’s former Club wing will be renovated in phase one and renamed The Regent Wing. Renowned hospitality design company Richmond have captivated the essence of the Regency period with guestrooms reflecting individual styling influenced by historic detailing and accessories, while an eclectic mix of artwork will evoke a strong sense of place.
Perfect for couples on leisure stays, the spacious Regent Rooms will average over 350 square feet with modernized and discreet technology, Nespresso coffee machines as well as upgraded bathroom products.
A private apartment occupying an entire floor of up to four bedrooms with a sitting room and kitchen will be perfect for longer stay guests, or larger family gatherings and celebrations, in addition to new family studios that will provide flexible accommodation for parents travelling with children. All rooms in the Regent Wing will benefit from direct access to the hotel fitness centre and swimming pool and – for the ultimate shopaholic’s convenience – a private door will provide direct street access to the top of Regent Street.
The Langham Club Lounge
Work has also commenced on creating the new Langham Club Lounge, set to redefine the club concept. At 3,700 square feet The Langham Club Lounge will feature private check-in/check-out and personal concierge, an adult only Drawing Room and a Library with a Writers’ Corner. The spacious and exquisitely appointed Langham Club guestrooms and suites will evoke a warm, residential feel.
Complimentary services will include premium broadband internet access, the pressing of three items of clothing upon check-in, two hours use of the ‘The Loft’ (private events space), full daily breakfast, all-day refreshments, afternoon tea, early evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
The Sterling Suite
The much anticipated Sterling Suite will elevate the definition of indulgence with the most luxurious amenities and services. Due to be unveiled in April 2015, the suite will comprise 4,800 square feet with up to six bedrooms featuring contemporary design with bespoke furnishings commissioned from British craftsmen. A personal butler service will discretely anticipate every aspect of the guests stay while innovative touches such as a private media lounge and special security features will ensure the suite offers ‘The New Hallmark for Refined Living’.
