Ordering room service can be a treat, but it can also be pretty dismal as often, hotels offer a limited selection of standard fare to pick and choose from for those who don’t feel like leaving their suites. Luckily, our five picks go above and beyond the norm with the fabulous food found on their in-room dining menus.

1 Montage Laguna Beach

We love, love, love the in-room dining menu at the gorgeous Montage Laguna Beach. Everything you're in the mood for (and more) is available here, from filet mignon chili to oysters on the half shell to sushi and creme brulee. Though there are excellent eateries at the Montage (Studio is one of the best in Southern California) you may truly not even feel the need to leave your room.

2 Peninsula Beverly Hills

The Peninsula's in-room dining menu is as elegant and bespoke an experience as the hotel itself. Whether you're ordering wheat-free items like quinoa linguini or Petrossian's Tsar Imperial Imported Osetra caviar off of the late-night menu, or even a Japanese breakfast of grilled salmon, miso soup, toasted seaweed and pickled vegetables, there's something for everyone here. We mean this literally, as there's even something for your dogs! The Pampered Puppy menu offers decadent treats for those traveling with their four-legged companions such as Kuno’s steak and aggs, a bow wow beef burger, Spot’s New York strip and more can be delivered to your room to make your pooch’s stay at The Peninsula as luxurious as your own.

3 Beverly Hills Hotel

Thanks to the new launch of the Beverly Hills Hotel's “Taste of Dorchester Collection," you can experience fare that's available around the world at each of the hotel's parent company's properties. Indulge in items like a Le Meurice “Lobster Club” while at Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, Coworth Park’s “Fish & Chips” while at Le Richemond in Geneva, or The Beverly Hills Hotel’s “McCarthy Salad” while at Hotel Eden in Rome. For those that want to stick to the regular in-room dining menu, feel truly special: there is one special item per day created for those who order in-room only. You may not even want to leave your suite!

4 Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

There's something for everyone on the in-room dining menu at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, which is so vast that it includes a Japanese breakfast, an extensive wine list, a special menu for children and an inspired selection of nutritionally balanced, healthier fare. Chef's daily specials complement the regular in-room Dining menu, which also includes a variety of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, snacks and beverages, as well as favorites such as pizza and burgers for late-night diners. Expect to find delightful breakfast delicacies like a giant sticky brioche bun with maple and pecans, chocolate waffles with chocolate maple syrup, locally sourced items like a wild arugula salad with garden herbs, citrus, local burrata, raw almonds and dates, and popular ethnic cuisine like Thai green chicken curry and Korean short ribs.

5 SLS Beverly Hills

The in-room dining menu at the SLS Beverly Hills takes the concept of room service and turns it on its ear. This menu is HUGE. You'll likely want to order everything you see as everything looks, sounds and tastes delicious, but then again, master chef Jose Andres IS the man behind the menu. Expect to find items like olive oil mini pancakes, Greek yogurt smoothies with agave nectar, roasted Jidori chicken and the Catalan breakfast—‘pa amb tomaquet’ toasted rustic bread with fresh tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil.
