Nada Debs, one of Middle East’s most talented and reputable contemporary designers, will join the region’s inaugural Design Awards taking place on 29th October at The Oberoi Hotel. As a member of the judging panel, she will highlight the central title of the night, Emerging Designer of the Year. She has also been chosen to design the winners’ trophy at the awards.
Debs has also been appointed to design an exclusive trophy for the first ever Design Awards. “Today, in the Arab world, we are now exposed to design in a very new way—people have become conscious of good design,” she says. “It’s the perfect time to launch the awards to bring awareness to the availability of the different disciplines in design, from bathroom products to kitchen products to furniture brands. This will also open doors to the youth to challenge themselves to study design,” said Nada Debs regarding the Design Awards.
Nada is known for her work which is greatly influenced by Japanese minimalism. The designer has worked in a range of disciplines within the interior industry, including architecture, art objects and furniture.
